Busy. It’s become the common response when someone is asked about how life is going. Busyness isn’t always a good thing. It can lead to burnout and exhaustion, and it can happen at work and in our personal lives.
Student pastors are oftentimes discouraged and overworked in their day-to-day jobs. It is important for them to be reminded why they work with youth and how valuable they are to their community. Youth ministry is a crucial part of the local church and youth pastors bring a lot of value to their students’ lives.
ReCharge is a time for youth pastors to rediscover the reasons they started in youth ministry. SWAT takes time to encourage and challenge each of them in their gifting’s that make them better and stronger for the mission that God has called them to with their lives. Life change is occurring around youth pastors as a result of their commitment and compassion for others. We want to equip them to deal with the day-to-day responsibilities they have been entrusted with and provide a higher level of excellence to accomplish those tasks.
FOCUS LESS ON DOING AND MORE ON BEING.
Your value stems from what you believe about yourself. It can be so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and only focus on what we are getting done. We all need to be reminded to stop and rest in the presence of God and who He says we are. This refreshing truth of being His takes the pressure of performance away and gives room to be. This reminder can and will be a catalyst for youth pastors to continue in their calling and to push through when things get tough.
ReCharge is a location based event. SWAT wants to help youth pastors build stronger networks in their areas. If you are a wanting to host a roundtable for youth pastors in your area, let us know.
ReCharge is an afternoon roundtable hosted at a local church. We will have one each month August-May for youth pastors and their spouses. Attendance is free and lunch will be provided.
